RED, WHITE, + BLUE: FOOD, ENTERTAINING, + CELEBRATING

I am a sucker for “themed” almost anything.  A small American flag will adorn our dinner table in July, colored eggs are a must do activity in the Spring, the ORANGEBLACK, and GREEN checkered table cloth, that I have had for 10 years, covers our dining room table for the entire month of October, and it’s all about the color RED in February.

Memorial Weekend, for me, is the kick-off of summer fun.  Lazy days, afternoon walks along the Pacific Coast, riding our bikes in the neighborhood until the sun goes down, and approximately 78 days without much of a plan, is how we like to roll. The lack of schedule and structure is something I look forward to; meals become more relaxed, the creativity flows, our garden gets the much needed attention it deserves, and spontaneity is the name of the game.

From Memorial Day to Labor Day, REDWHITE, and BLUE depicts the essence of summer, American traditions, and all things patriotic. I have found some food, kitchen supplies, table lines, and more that embody the “red, white, and blue” theme.  Whether you put a bowl of blueberries in a red bowl on your breakfast table, or hang a flag on the outside of your house, be in the moment, and enjoy!
